Forsyth County will mail out survey to some households beginning Oct. 4

Forsyth County Government will be mailing out a Community Survey on county services to a random sample of Forsyth County households beginning October 4, and continuing through October and November.

The goal of the survey is to help Forsyth County Commissioners and staff learn more about opportunities and challenges facing the community. It will compile resident feedback on a wide variety of county programs and services, and will measure how residents feel about Forsyth County as a place to live and work.

Residents will be provided with two options to respond to the survey: an online link that will be included in the letter and a pre-paid return envelope. Households who receive the survey may also receive a follow-up e-mail or phone call.

This is an initiative of the county commissioners that was initially discussed during budget restoration meetings in December 2020 and then included in the Fiscal Year 2022 annual budget.

ETC Institute was selected to administer the survey. ETC is also used by the City of Winston-Salem, Mecklenburg County, Chatham County, Durham County, and other local governments.

ETC’s goal is to receive a minimum of 1,200 completed surveys from county residents, with 400 responses coming from District A and 800 responses from District B, which is a representative proportion of each district’s population.

ETC is expected to present the survey’s results to the commissioners in February 2022.
