The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announces that Zino, K-9 partner of Sergeant J. B. Hall, retired from service on December 19, 2015 due to medical issues.
Sergeant Hall and Zino were paired in 2011, after graduating Canine Handler Training provided by K2 Solutions. Zino maintained certification with the North American Police Working Dog Association (NAPWDA) in narcotics, aggression, article searches, tracking, building searches and obedience.
Sergeant Hall and Zino have assisted numerous other law enforcement agencies with their skills and knowledge. Zino is credited with locating over $41,000 in narcotics, property and currency. He has helped locate several suspects through tracking and on warrant services. Multiple public demonstrations were completed during Zino’s service, boosting a positive image of law enforcement.
Zino will be missed by all officers he has worked with and will be remembered as the K-9 always searching for the next head rub from his coworkers. Zino is now enjoying retired life with his sisters and other canine siblings.
